Mizan Productions, a subsidiary of Mizan Group (a leading publisher group in Indonesia), was established in 2008. Other than Mizan Productions, Mizan Groups itself consists of several publishing houses, two distribution companies, a printing facility, a chain bookstore company, and a unit of digital publishing.

Initially, Mizan Productions worked on various educational television programs, such as Khazanah Religi Nusantara (The Religious Legacy of the Archipelago), Santri Zone, Asyiknya Ramadhan (The Fun of Ramadan), ParentingSpace, etc.

Mizan Productions began to be more widely known in 2008 when, in cooperation with Miles Films, it produced Laskar Pelangi (The Rainbow Troops) which later has won many awards and recogintions, both nationally and internationally. The film is an adaptation of a mega bestselling novel with the same title written by Andrea Hirata, and was published by Bentang Pustaka, a subsidiary of Mizan Group as well. Laskar Pelangi, so far, is the box office record holder in the history of Indonesian cinema.

Since then, with its commitment to produce inspirational films for the audience, Mizan Productions has become more deeply involved in the film industry in Indonesia. With its strong and good messages films, Mizan Productions has produced more award winning films.
